Blog Post 1 - "You can call me Kk"
Hello, I'm Keiaira. Or you can call me Kk. Kk is a nickname I gave myself by accident. It has stuck though and I've just run with it since. The story of how I ended up being Kk isn't very long. It is just what happens when an odd spelling of a common nickname meets the anime club in the form of a comic.
My nickname as bestowed by my family was “Kiki”, but I have always spelled it “Keke”. That's because the second letter in my name is e. I suppose I could have spelled it “Keikei”. That never crossed my mind. Stylistically, I like to keep names aesthetic and simple in spelling. (I hope this claim doesn't return to bite me). Now, seeing my “Keke” if you know any Japanese, you might be able to guess what happened.
In Japan the “e” when written sounds like “eh”. So if you are studying Japanese in highschool — which much of the anime club was — then you might see “Keke” written down and you might not read it as “Key-key” but instead as “Keh-keh”. And if you did this after reading my comic in highschool full of self inserts of me and my friends featuring my character named “Keke” then I would be surprised, but I would not correct you due to the soul shaking anxiety I had. So when you and a few others started to call me “Keke” instead of “Keke” I would just accept that was my new nickname. Luckily, I was not stuck as “Keke" for the rest of my highschool journey.
By some miracle of tongue or twist of fate the sounds that made up my new nickname became “Kk” in the ears and mouths of most people. I was happy to run with that instead. And so hello, I'm Kk. Or you can call me Keiaira.
Every week, I will try to make two blog posts. I wil post my goals one day then a review of what I got done on a different day.
This week my goals are:
Finish recording and editing my reading of chapter 1 of the Parable of the Sower, mostly recording. I'm ⅔ of the way done.
Block out npc stats and skill dcs needed for the first session of the Pathfinder mini campaign that I am running in April. My outline is done and I'm quite excited about it, but time to consider the numbers.
Finish doing headshot sketches of the central characters of my illustrated web novel. I currently have a severe lack of illustrations. I'm ⅗ of the way done, two more faces to go.
Voice record this blog post and write my next blog post (which I will also need to voice record).
Thank you for joining me in my first blog post on my website. I hope you'll be able to read and enjoy more of it.
